MABC NAMES MR. AND MISS BASKETBALL SEMI-FINALISTS

PORTLAND, Maine (February 18, 2010) – Local Maine McDonald's Owner/Operators and the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches (MABC) today announced semi-finalists for the 2010 Mr. and Miss Maine Basketball Awards, presented to one outstanding male high school senior and one outstanding female high school senior basketball player in the state.  The award, the state's highest basketball honor, recognizes the players’ performance on the court, as well as their contribution to their team and to Maine basketball.

The ten Miss Basketball Semi-finalists are:

Lauren Rousseau – Biddeford H.S.
Claire Ramonas – Deering H.S.
Kirsten Prue – Edward Little H.S.
Abby Young – Greely H.S.
Vanessa Sanderson – Houlton H.S.
Hannah Dexter – Messalonskee H.S.
Hannah Fenwick – Mount Ararat H.S.
Christy Manning – Scarborough H.S.
Jennifer Nale – Waterville H.S.
Morgan Woodhouse – Waynflete School

The ten Mr. Basketball Semi-finalists are:

Dom Drake – Brewer
Indiana Faithfull – Cheverus
Tyler Chiasson – Dirigo
James Philbrook – Edward Little
Stefano Mancini – Falmouth
Jacob Moore – Hampden Academy       
Keegan Hyland – South Portland
Dominic Borelli – Westbrook
Nich Jobin – Westbrook

The six finalists (3 girls, 3 boys) for Mr. and Miss Basketball will be announced after the
high school basketball state tournaments are complete. The award winners will be announced at the Maine McDonald's High School Senior All-Star Banquet on the evening
of Friday, March 12, at Husson University's Newman Gymnasium.  The All-Star players,
All-Star coaches, members of the All-State Academic teams, Regional Foul Shooting Champions, Maine McDonald’s Spirit of the Game Award recipients and the MABC
Contributor Award honoree also will be recognized at the awards banquet.

The 2010 Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All Star Basketball Games will be held
on Saturday, March 13,  at Husson University's Newman Gymnasium. Tickets are good
for all four games and may be purchased at the door on Saturday, March 13th.  Tickets
are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students, children and senior citizens. More information

The 2010 All-Star Games marks McDonald’s 22nd consecutive year as lead sponsor of this event.
