WMTW-TV SPORTS ANCHOR DAVE GUTHRO HONORED BY MABC AT 2009 MAINE McDONALD'S® ALL-STAR BASKETBALL BANQUET
BANGOR, Maine (March 13, 2009) – This evening, the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches (MABC) presented its Media Award to News 8 WMTW-TV Sports Anchor Dave Guthro. The award was presented at the 2009 Maine McDonald’s® High School Senior All-Star Basketball Games awards banquet at Husson University in Bangor, Maine.
“Since coming to Maine in 2007, Dave Guthro has become one of the top sports reporters in the state,” said MABC President Peter Murray. “Dave is committed to highlighting Maine high school athletics and we are honoring him this weekend, in particular, for his commitment to high school basketball in the state.”
While in Maine, Guthro has received the Associated Press and the Maine Association of Broadcasters awards for his work covering New England and Maine sports, including Maine high school basketball. Prior to that he served as a sportscaster for ABC-TV in Springfield, Mass., where he was awarded multiple New England Emmys and Associated Press awards.
Also honored at the MABC Awards Banquet were members of the All-State Academic Team, the Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All-Star Basketball
Players, All-Star Coaches, the Maine McDonald’s Spirit of the Game Award

Game Day tickets are available at the door and are good for all four Games. Tickets are $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students, children and senior citizens.
