Augusta ALL-STAR TEAM '09AUGUSTA, Maine (February 18, 2009) – In Augusta and Bangor today, the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches (MABC) announced A/B East and C/D East and West player selections for the for the 2009 Maine McDonald's® High School Senior All-Star Basketball Games. Players representing 62 high schools from across the state have been honored with selection to the All-Star teams. (A player list is attached.) The A/B West All-Stars will be announced tomorrow at a 2:00 PM news conference in Portland. The All-Stars were selected based upon ballot returns on a statewide high school basketball coaches’ vote conducted by MABC in January. "Since 1988, the local Owner/Operators of Maine's McDonald's restaurants have been committed to recognizing student athletes across the state with this hallmark sporting event,” said Mike Ortins, local Maine McDonald’s Owner/Operator. “We salute the Maine McDonald's All-Star Team players for their dedication to academic and athletic excellence, sportsmanship and team spirit.
